Many Saints fans were concerned when they noticed the interim coach looked like he was in pain for no obvious reason. Well there was a good reason as a matter of fact. Payton Turner playfully pushed him in the back during the celebrating, and Rizzi came up a bit hobbled afterwards.
Turner was celebrating with thirty seconds left in the game, and Rizzi ripped him for it.
After the final play, Turner wanted to mess with him after that prior interaction. Rizzi has a history of stingers, and that’s what happened to him again. He said that his arm went completely numb.
The coach reassured everyone that he was fine, and that the whole situation was a positive one with his player.
There’s no doubting the passion from Rizzi. Throughout the game, he was shown getting fired up, both positively and negatively, due to the team’s performance. He badly wants to get the team back on track and is confident in his abilities to do so this season.
It will be interesting to see if New Orleans can start stacking more wins after this one against Atlanta.
